Shure has bolstered its Microflex Ecosystem with the launch of the Microflex Wireless neXt 2.

The MXW neXt 2 combines advanced DSP capabilities and comprehensive audio I/O connections – including USB, Dante networked and analogue audio – to provide high-quality sound for spaces that require only two microphones. It also connects seamlessly to videoconferencing systems for situations with remote presenters.

Integration is facilitated by an all-in-one base unit that features an APT/charger and onboard DSP, which reduces the amount of hardware required. It can be network-installed or used as a standalone system.

The MXW neXt 2 offers a choice of three redesigned wireless microphone form factors: the MXW1X Bodypack, MXW2X Handheld and MXW6X Boundary. Each features an LCD high-resolution matrix display for monitoring remaining battery life and connection quality.

The battery run time has been increased to 17 hours for the bodypack and boundary microphones, and 28 hours for handheld microphones.

Direct connectivity to videoconferencing systems and seamless integration with MXA array microphones makes the MXW neXt 2 suited to hybrid use cases that require audio capture of participants in the room, sound reinforcement of a presenter and far-end audio from remote presenters in a live setting or for recording.

Protection of the audio signal has been boosted by the addition of Shure Audio Encryption, which is based on the AES-256 algorithm.

Doug Daube, Shure’s director of conferencing, global product management, said: “The MXW neXt 2 is an ideal new solution for those seeking enhanced meeting equity and clear sound reinforcement in videoconferencing and hybrid presentations, both in classrooms and business spaces.

“AV/IT professionals in corporate and higher-education environments now require more-flexible solutions for teaching, conferencing spaces and other hybrid scenarios. The MXW neXt 2 will help address their challenges by simplifying workflows and affordably delivering exceptional Microflex audio performance, all in a user-friendly and convenient form factor.”

Shure will be showcasing the MXW neXt 2 on Booth 3N300 (Hall 3) at ISE.
