Bluman key to Radio One Big Weekend

Bluman Associates has provided key members of the video team for this year’s Radio One Big Weekend in Hull.

Crowds at one of Europe’s biggest free music events enjoyed performances from artists including Katy Perry, Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon, Lorde & HAIM. Bluman Associates assisted event production specialists EnTEEtainment to manage video content for the festival’s line-up of high-profile artists.

Bluman Associates acted as the liaison between individual artist production, the in-house festival team, screen management and processing – provided by Creative Technology, and the BBC broadcast team.

Running the side and intermission screens, Bluman Associates made sure the touring tech and creative teams integrated seamlessly into the show production – collaborating with individual departments to ensure each performance was broadcast without fault.

“There is a lot of communication that needs to take place ahead of a broadcast event. It’s not simply technology artist’s tour with. There are creative teams that need to have input and feel satisfied with the production of the show,” said Pod Bluman. “Our role is to manage that liaison and ensure the right teams have the right information so that nothing falls through the gaps.”
