Otra Vuelta Broadcasting relied on Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras and an ATEM Constellation 8K live production switcher to produce a 360° experience at three DJ Bizarrap concerts in Argentina.

The Argentinian broadcast and live-streaming company turned to Blackmagic Design to create a cinematic look for the shows and to provide an immersive experience.

Otra Vuelta Broadcasting deployed 23 cameras, 16 of which were Blackmagic Design cameras, including six URSA Broadcast G2s and five Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pros, all shooting in Blackmagic RAW.

The URSA Broadcast G2s were sited across the venue and mounted on camera arms to provide views from a range of angles. The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pros were deployed by hand to give concert-goers and viewers the feeling that they were on stage with Bizarrap.

Otra Vuelta Broadcasting crew members carrying Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pros also mixed with the audience to capture the adrenaline and ambience around the stage.

For the shows’ dynamic lighting, Otra Vuelta Broadcasting relied on two ATEM Camera Control Panels to modify and correct the cameras’ colour according to the changing on-stage effects, with an ATEM Constellation 8K used for the principal mixing. Blackmagic Camera Fiber Converters and Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converters provided connectivity via a single fibre cable between the URSA Broadcast G2s and ATEM Constellation 8K over a distance of 300m.

Rodolfo Cesatti, a partner at Otra Vuelta Broadcasting, says: “Bizarrap’s shows are known for their electrifying lights and visuals displayed on screens surrounding the stage, so having cinematic cameras that allowed us to capture the colours clearly was key.

“We were able to offer attendees, as well as viewers at home, a full sensory experience due to the quality of the footage, in addition to the cameras’ affordability, as we were able to implement a large number of units. The ability to shoot in 4K with both the URSA Broadcast G2s and the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pros was huge for us, as it also gave uniformity to the show.”
