Samsung Electronics is providing the technology for Netflix’s immersive popup experience in Los Angeles, Squid Game: The Trials.

The experience – which is based on Netflix’s Squid Game and Squid Game: The Challenge series – deploys Samsung’s TVs and Galaxy mobile devices to allow players to compete in games inspired by the shows.

At the entrance to the attraction, Samsung’s flagship Neo QLED 8K welcomes guests by showcasing the Squid Game: The Challenge trailer.

In the Red Light, Green Light challenge, the gameplay will be enhanced by the Galaxy S23 Ultra phone’s Hyperlapse video.

In the Digital Dalgona Challenge, players have to cut delicate shapes out of Korean candy using Samsung’s S Pen.

The S Pen can also be used to capture in-game photos for sharing instantly via Quick Share or download through email.

The FlexCam Selfie Kiosk allows players to use the Galaxy Z Flip5’s FlexCam to take hands-free photos from different angles and download them to be framed.

After playing, participants can head to the VIP room, where they can observe ongoing challenges on The Frame’s 85″ screen. The lifestyle TV’s matte display technology replicates the  ambience of the Front Man’s quarters in the series.

Cheolgi Kim, executive vice-president of sales and marketing at Samsung Electronics’ visual display business, said: “Through Neo QLED 8K’s stunning picture quality, fans and participants will be able to immerse themselves in the environment and create unforgettable memories.
