Christie’s HS Series and Inspire Series 1DLP laser projectors are illuminating immersive exhibition spaces at a new interactive museum in South Korea.
Museum X, which combines digital media art and technology, is divided into four zones and 16 experiential facilities where visitors can explore bright and colourful exhibits that showcase dynamic themes.
Christie’s partner, SNC Alliance, supplied 34 laser projectors including the Christie 4K7-HS, which features 4K UHD resolution, as well as the Inspire Series DWU760-iS and DWU960-iS models.
The devices were installed across the venue by local systems integrator Ten Square to bring the artworks produced by Seoul-based experience creator XORBIS to life.
In the ‘Ensemble’ zone, a mesmerising fusion of artificial intelligence and art unfolds, inviting visitors to immerse themselves inside a media cocoon where their digital drawings are magically brought to life. Illuminated by eight Christie DWU760-iS projectors, the artworks are displayed with captivating chromatics and colours that elevate the viewing experience.
The cylindrical ‘Surround’ zone evokes multiple senses by merging the sea with space. Eight discreetly installed Christie 4K7-HS and DWU960-iS projectors transport visitors into fantasy realms with hyper-realistic imagery of vibrant sunsets and underwater worlds.
In the ‘Symphony’ zone, 18 DWU760-iS laser projectors installed overhead transport visitors into a dreamy atmosphere that highlights urban and natural landscapes from across South Korea.
The HS Series and Inspire Series provide a range of brightness options in WUXGA or 4K UHD resolutions. They are suited to 24/7 operation, offering up to 20,000 hours of virtually maintenance-free deployment.
Tailored for small to medium-sized environments, both series feature the Christie Twist warping and blending engine, as well as optional Christie Mystique automated camera-based alignment tools.
Dong-Woo Lee, SNC Alliance’s chief executive, says: “Christie’s HS and Inspire Series projectors were chosen to ensure that visitors can experience the seamless integration of art and technology with unparalleled colour reproductionm without compromising image quality.
“The 4K7-HS projectors are particularly well suited to this project, excelling in challenging, space-limited installations. Additionally, the versatile Inspire Series, with IP5X dust-resistant optical engine and whisper-quiet operation, complements the set-up. Both projector models offered hassle-free set up and enhanced the art and visual colours of the exhibition.”
