Hive has appointed Nigel Sadler as sales director.

He will be responsible for setting up worldwide distribution channels and routes to market for Hive’s growing portfolio of media playback solutions, as well as offering guidance on projects and serving as a bridge between the R&D, support and sales teams.

Sadler has almost three decades’ experience in the lighting and event industry, including 18 years at Green Hippo, where he held roles such as special projects and strategic product director, and chief technology officer.

He has worked on a range of high-profile projects including the Super Bowl and Academy Awards, as well as worldwide stadium tours for renowned bands and artists.

“Hive takes all the must-have technology and functions and applies them to a product that is easy to use and suitable for a wide range of applications,” said Sadler. “While it doesn’t replace every product for every project, Hive’s vision simplifies the approach, making it more sustainable and cost-effective.

“Hive represents a revolutionary, disruptive product and I am excited to come onboard during these early stages. It’s already been a dynamic beginning, and I’m thrilled to be a part of something that has the potential to transform the industry.”

Hive’s co-founder, Dave Green, said: “I’ve known Nigel for a long time and this collaboration marks a full-circle moment in our professional relationship. His enthusiasm for our solutions and industry expertise makes him a perfect fit for the Hive team, and we’re excited to see where this collaboration takes us.”

Visitors to ISE 2024 will be able to meet Sadler on Stand D200 in Hall 5. He will also be chairing a conference on the future of video solutions at ISE’s Live Events Summit on 1 February.
