Drone ‘hologram’ welcomes Neymar to Saudi Arabian club

Drones depicted the Brazilian footballer’s face in the night sky over Riyadh, before spelling out ‘Neymar is blue’, in reference to the colours of his new club, Al-Hilal.

The transfer of Brazilian footballer Neymar to Saudi Arabia has been celebrated with a drone show featuring the player’s face.

Neymar who has joined Riyadh-based Al-Hilal, was introduced to a 60,000-capacity crowd at the King Fahd International Stadium as Al-Hilal drew 1-1 with Al-Feiha in the Saudi Pro League.

Drones depicted Neymar’s face in the night sky, before spelling out “Neymar is blue”, in reference to the club’s colours.

Al-Hilal signed Neymar, who is tied with Pele as the Brazil national team’s highest-ever goalscorer, from Paris Saint Germain for about £86m million. The player will earn £276m over a two-year contract.
