Pro Audio Systems has upgraded the audio systems at 12 TeamSport kart racing circuits in the UK with EV loudspeakers. The UK’s largest indoor-karting company, which operates 35 racing circuits, has always recognised the importance of high-quality audio provision across its reception areas, briefing rooms, hospitality facilities and spectator areas.

Bradford-based PAS has been Teamsport’s chosen supplier and installer since 2016 and was recently tasked with revamping the audio in the reception areas of 12 TeamSport sites.

Teamsport’s projects and facilities director, Dave Rich, was seeking a professional system that allowed music playback across multiple zones with individual volume control for each.

“In the past, our audio requirement had mainly been for music reinforcement for spectators in the karting areas,” he says. “But as we’ve developed our offering, the sites now include bars and ancillary leisure experiences, so we needed a solution in place that not only delivered premium audio from our internal music player, but gave us that essential individual control over each zone.”

The reception areas have been fitted with EV EVID C4.2 4” ceiling mounts, to complement the EV EVID C8.2  8” ceiling mounts deployed in the bars. In the spectator areas, EV EVID 6.2 dual 6” surface mount loudspeakers provide a high level of power and performance.

Each site is equipped with an Audio Technica System 10 handheld digital wireless microphone system for announcements (System 10 PRO is deployed where there are multiple floors), with a Cloud 4 Zone Rack Mount Venue Mixer enabling the flexible control of each area. PAS director Dave Simpson says: “We carried out upgrades to the reception areas in quick succession, sending a team ‘on tour’ to maximise logistical efficiency and deliver the upgrades as competitively as possible.

“We visited Gosport, Crawley, Mitcham, west and north London, Dunstable, Cardiff, Warrington, Liverpool, Manchester, Clydebank and Cambuslang. Over the years, we’ve dealt with 27 TeamSport venues, so we’ve created an efficient operation to take care of whatever they need.”
