VME has become the world’s largest rental stockist of Martin Audio’s MLA platform.
The company, which is based in the north of England, has ordered 475 cabinets comprising 179 MLAs, 24 MLDs, 80 MLXs, 40 DSXs and 152 MLA Compacts.
As the live-events industry rebounded following the pandemic, VME decided to reposition itself as a dry hire specialist and it now has a stock of more than 600 Martin Audio enclosures.
Operations manager Aaron Harvey-Holt said: “We had been desperately short of kit for dry hire this summer. This will not only ensure we don’t run short of stock again, but will enable us to look at new sectors we can get into over the coming years. The long-term plan is to get back on the touring scene.”
He added that investing in more than 150 of the more versatile MLA Compact enclosures would allow VME to target the corporate market. “This is strategically designed to place us in the market for small, medium and large-scale gigs,” said Harvey-Holt.
Co-director Dion Davie said: “There isn’t a system on the market that does what MLA does – it’s untouchable and nothing comes near it. The MLA Compact really packs a punch for such a small box.”
He added that VME had also invested in TORUS and was in the process of becoming a uniquely Martin Audio house.
